Annie never intended to own a bed and breakfast cottage.
“I was driving around looking for a home to buy, and the view from this spot took my breath away. It turned out the cottage was already a successful bed and breakfast,” says Annie.

She’s decided she really enjoys innkeeping. For those who’ve delighted in the Soundview Cottage in years past, Annie is keeping it basically the way it’s always been, catering to guests who cherish their privacy.

Born in Mississippi, raised in Los Angeles, Annie has enjoyed living in the Seattle area, where she brought up three children. Annie is now the proud grandmother of four boys and two girls, ranging from one to 17 years of age.

Before retiring in 2002, she worked as an environmental educator at the Department of Ecology. Then she became an activist for voter registration, peace, and getting big money out of politics, which she considers the “bottom line” issue of why our democracy is not working. She’s on the Steering Committee of WAmend, a statewide coalition of nonprofit organizations. Annie also spends several hours a week in Highline High School’s ELL (English Language Learners) classroom helping young refugees learn English.

Annie hopes you can come and share in the beauty of Soundview – the tradition of hospitality continues whether you’re a business traveler, or looking for that perfect place for a personal retreat or romantic getaway. Experience Seattle’s best private guest cottage!
